Jeannette Plummer Sires

Archaeologist & Museum Curator

I make accessible content for general audiences, connecting archaeology to contemporary issues through compelling writing, public speaking, and media.

I'm currently focused on the material culture of Spanish imperialism in the Americas. I examine what skeletal remains, everyday objects, and written sources reveal about the colonial-era experiences of Indigenous communities and enslaved Africans, the people whose lives are often left out of official histories.
